Eagle Creek Hike

This is my FAVORITE hike!! Last year me and my friends started from the beginning of Eagle Creek Trail and hiked about 7 miles just passed tunnel falls and turned back around to hike back. It was so much fun that this year some of us decided to do it again but this time we started at Wahtum lake which was an hr drive straight up from Eagle Creek. We left one car at the Eagle Creek trail head, then drove all the way to Wahtum lake and camped there for the night. This picture is almost all the way to the lake.

We had to literally hike down 200 steep stairs to get to the lake where we were camping. It wasn't so bad hiking down, but hiking up the next morning with all of our camping stuff wasn't the most easy experience!

We took a swim in the lake it was really cold but refreshing. There were a LOT of really large crawdads and as I was trying to run out of the lake one almost got my foot. Kami and Jon swam all the way across the lake and were too tired to swim back so they had to walk around. I don't think they thought much about it before they left because by the time they got back they were soaking wet, freezing and could hardly see because it had gotten dark. I'm so glad that they made their way back, right in time for dinner!

This is where we camped out. We slept under the stairs at the food of the lake. What a beautiful and peaceful way to enjoy the North West.

After we started hiking a little we found the sign marking the Eagle Creek Trail. We were so excited! 15 mile hike, here we come1

I love how the scenery changed so much throughout this hike. There were so many beautiful and unique photo opts!

This was our halfway mark!! Kami and I were excited to get here because this was familiar ground. This is the spot we all stopped at last year and turned around.

Tunnel Falls!!! LOVE IT!

This was one of my favorite parts of the hike. The path is so narrow, rocky and very steep. It literally goes straight down over the edge. It's a little scary but sure is beautiful!

One of the many bridges and photos taken

Another bridge, Mark is crazy hanging off of this bridge, It's so high up.

This is the exact spot that Kami and I got a picture of last year. I love this view of one creek, so beautiful there!

Eagle Creek is known for Punch Bowl Falls. When we got here we were pretty tired and looking forward to a little break. This is about 3 miles in from the trail head so we knew we were getting close. This is also where Mark, Chris, and John jumped in and went for a swim. I think if I would have jumped in I would have went into shock... I was so tired and exhausted I don' t think I wouldn't have had much energy to swim in the FREEZING COLD water. They guys were crazy but I think the adrenaline from jumping soooo high kept them alive lol! You can see John on the cliff getting ready to jump in. Chris rode the falls down.

WE MADE IT!!! This is considered to be a difficult hike, and it was fun but we were definitely tired when we were finished. We were so happy to get to the car, but then realized we had a lot of driving to do. We had to squish in the car and drive an hr to Wahtum lake to get my van. Then drive all the way back home. Overall, we had an amazing few days!!!
