Today we played in the snow again and I finally got some pictures taken. They kids are enjoying spending as much time with Aunt Sara as possible before she leaves to go to BYUI. We are all going to miss SARA!!!!! I still can't believe how much snow we have gotten, considering it usually doesn't snow much in WA or OR. We started building a snowman, but never got to finish it because the little ones got cold. So hopefully tomorrow we can go out there and finish the snow man so we can take a picture of it!

Christmas Tree Farm and Zoo Lights
I thought I should post some pictures of a few of the things we did so far this December. I am going to take some pictures of the kids playing in the snow tomorrow, but for now here are just a few pictures of Derrick, the kids and I getting our tree at the tree farm and we went to the Zoo lights after we put our tree up.

Christmas time is always an adventure
So today was the second Sunday in a row that church was canceled due to the snow. I grew up in CO and nothing was canceled because of the snow. But at least we are having fun playing in the snow! I decided it was about time to get a picture taken for our Christmas cards, if I ever get them mailed out. So I propped my camera with a box and used the self timer and this is the best one that I could get. I think it turned out all right. I'll add a few more pictures that I shot, but in my opinion this is the best.
The roads are so bad, I had a hard time driving to my dad's in Portland with chains on my tires. I figured if we are going to be cooped up inside for the next couple days we might as well go to my dad's a couple days early and spend time with them. My dad's work has been canceled the last few days, and my sister hasn't worked either. And since Sara is leaving us all to go off to college and BYUI in 2 weeks we need to spend as much time with her as possible. It was scary driving down I-5 I had to have my windows down a bit and I couldn't see out my front window because the wind was blowing snow everywhere and ice was building up on it. Crazy, but I made it here safely. I just hope that the weather clears up in the next few days so the kids can make it to their dad's for Christmas day! Here are a few more pictures from today!

So I guess it's about time I join the blogging family.
It's going to be a new year, and I wanted to try to keep records of the things we do this year so I thought this would be the way to go. And It seems that I am very blogger illiterate. I have no idea how to use this thing. So bare with me as I attempt this blogging world and share my precoious life moments with you all.
I should have taken a picture of the beauty and COLD we are blessed with this Christmas year. Since people of Washington don't know how to drive in snow (or rain what's the irony of that in Washington?) the kids and I decided to walk to the store instead of attempting to drive on the road. But it was a fun adventure. I wish I had my camera with me because Trenten sat in the stroller, and Melissa sat on his lap. He held on to his sister so tight, he's such a good brother. Then Melissa fell asleep on the way back so Trenten and I decided to have a snow fight and I wanted to make a snow angel, but Trenten thought it would be more fun to jump on my angel, oh well. At least we were able to get outside since we've been cooped up inside the last few days.
Today Melissa and Trenten proved to me that men and women are the same from the time they are young to the time they get old. This is so adorable and I just couldn't help but think how true this situation really is. Melissa was laying on the couch and she told Trenten her tummy hurt. Trenten asked her, "are you all right honey, is there anything I can do for you?" Then she replied, "no, I'll be ok." Here's a perfect example of the "man" trying to help, and the "women" thinking she doesn't need help. SO TRUE. So much we can learn from these precious little children!
I'm sure I'll make a Christmas letter to send out to everyone. Haven't gotten around to it yet. But since we are pretty much snowed in there really isn't any excuse for me. But I'll just write a few things that are on my mind about this year. Probably one of the most big changes this year has been my move back to Vancouver. It was the best thing I could have ever done. For a million reasons, a few of them being I started school, I'm closer to my family and I have a lot of great friends here. Yep, I'm now officially a college student. My first semester was so awesome, I was so scared to start school, thinking that managing school, work, single mom life with two kids, dating and having a social life was going to be so hard. But I managed to pull off all A's and enjoy my time with my kids, and have good quality time with Derrick. Heavenly Father really is amazing, I couldn't be more blessed in my life!
So I guess that will be the end of my first blog post. Hopefully I can figure out how to do more on here. But for now I will post a picture of me and the kids doing our nightly reading in our "magical reading tent" we created together.
